Welcome! This site was designed to assist cranberry growers in making informed economic decisions on variety selection for field renovation or purchase.

There are many factors to consider when choosing a cranberry variety (e.g., per-acre-yield, disease resistance, fruit color, etc.). Rutgers researchers have developed unique varieties that are highly productive and have other desirable attributes as well. Current varieties Crimson Queen®, Mullica Queen®, and Demoranville® have been very successful in the U.S. and Canada, and are available to licensed growers from authorized propagators in a variety of planting options (such as Rooted Plants, Unrooted Plants, Mowings).

The return on investment for Rutgers Varieties should be accelerated with Rutgers varieties due to increased cash flow from higher yields, as well as rapid bed establishment. Click on the link below to see the financial return on investment from growing a Rutgers' variety compared to any other variety you select (or you can compare any other alternative investment choices). The model is very quick, it will take only moments to see comparative results for the inputs you select.
